Strengthening Lives Through Support
We understand that every person’s experience is different, and that support needs to feel clear and steady. Looking for the right kind of help, whether for yourself or someone you care about, can bring up many questions, especially when things already feel complex or overwhelming. You want support that makes sense, feels respectful, and helps you take the next step with clarity and care.
Behaviour support is for adults (aged 19+) with autism and/or other intellectual disabilities. At Laurel Supports, we work alongside individuals, and the people around them, using a collaborative, strengths-based approach rooted in Positive Behaviour Support.
Together, we work to understand what behaviours may be communicating and build skills that support greater confidence and independence. Our goal is to help individuals feel more included, connected, and supported in their home and community over time.
You can expect support that is:
- Guided by your strengths, needs, and goals
- Collaborative and shaped alongside you and those around you
- Culturally safe and grounded in respect
While every individual’s path may look different, our goal stays the same: to help them build the skills, confidence and connections they need to live meaningful lives and to ensure they feel supported along the way.
There are two ways to access this service:
- Community Living BC (CLBC)
We work in partnership with CLBC to provide behaviour consultation for eligible adults at no cost. If you are already connected to CLBC, your facilitator can talk with you about whether this service is a good fit and support you through the referral process. If you are not yet connected, you can learn more about eligibility and how to apply through CLBC. - Fee‑for‑Service
You can also access behaviour consultation using private or government-allocated funding, including Persons with Disabilities (PWD) income. If that is the right path for you, we can help you understand the next steps.
